PEYC Dinghy Sailing

Welcome to Port Edgar Yacht Club Dinghy section. We currently have an active fleet of dinghies racing twice a week using marks in Queensferry Bay and between the 3 historic Forth Bridges. PEYC aims to promote dinghy sailing for a wide range of abilities and interests. The emphasis is on having fun in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

There is a WhatsApp group for PEYC dinghy sailors which helps organise races, OOD swaps and often  chats about weather conditions.   The link to join it is here  PEYC dinghy sailors

If you are a complete beginner you should consider taking a course at Port Edgar Water Sports. If you have joined PEYC you can obtain discounts on courses and equipment hire. See here for details.

If you can sail but are not interested in racing or perhaps you just want to sharpen up your skills the club runs fun sails on  Monday evenings when the tide allows.

The club has  two Lasers (both radial and full rig) and a Topper Magno available for members to borrow, the Magno is a 1 or 2 person dinghy which can be sailed with a mainsail only, a mainsail and jib, or as a 3 sail boat with an assymetric spinnaker. The boats are currently booked via the PEYC dinghy sailor’s WhatsApp group.

Dates and times of dinghy races and fun sails are in the Sailing Calendar .
