We have three club dinghies available for loan whenever there is organised dinghy sailing and safety cover is available. The boats may be booked through the PEYC Dinghy Sailors WhatsApp group.

Laser

We have a Laser, the ubiquitous single hander, both with either a full rig or a radial rig.

Magno

We have a Topper Magno,a 1 or 2 person dinghy.

The Magno can be rigged with main only, main and jib, or as a three sail boat with an assymetric gennaker. Topper supply rigging instructions <<here>> but note that on our boat, as the jib furler is better at tangling the halliard than furling the jib, the jib is hoisted normally and doesn’t roll away when the gennaker is flying. This also means that when its not in use, the jib is kept in its bag, in the boat, rolled head to foot. Its not out in the open, on the furler, rolled luff to leech.

Laser 13

We Have “Posh Jenny” a Laser 13 also a 2 person dinghy.

Posh Jenny is a 2 sail cruising/teaching dinghy with main and a furling jib. She is ideal for a cruise round the bay and getting to know how to sail a dinghy. The furling jib and slab reefing main make it easy to reduce the sail in stronger conditions and the broad hull and heavy alloy centreboard make the boat more stable than many in gusty conditions.
